YAN SEO ("the Extension") is a free Chrome browser extension that performs on-page SEO analysis directly inside your browser. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension and the website yanseo.com ("the Site") handle information.

The core principle is simple: YAN SEO does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. All analysis happens locally in your browser.

2. Data Processed by the Extension

When you use the YAN SEO extension, it reads and analyzes the content of the web page currently open in your browser tab. This includes:

HTML structure (title tags, meta descriptions, heading hierarchy)
Link elements and their HTTP status codes
Image attributes (src, alt, title)
Structured data (Schema.org markup)
Open Graph and social meta tags
Text content for keyword density analysis
Font families and color styles for the Design Extractor
Canonical URL and hreflang tags

This data is processed entirely within your browser and is never sent to any external server, database, or third party. It is not stored between sessions.

3. Chrome Extension Permissions

YAN SEO requests the following Chrome permissions, used exclusively for the stated purposes:

activeTab / scripting: To read and analyze the DOM of the currently active page.
sidePanel: To display the extension UI in Chrome's side panel.
storage: To save your settings and preferences locally on your device only (e.g., last keyword used).
tabs: To detect navigation events and refresh analysis when the page changes.

No permission is used to track browsing history, collect usage analytics, or access any data beyond the current page being audited.

4. Link Checker HTTP Requests

The Bulk Link Checker module sends HTTP requests to URLs found on the page you are auditing, in order to check their status codes (200, 301, 404, etc.). These requests are made directly from your browser — not through any YAN SEO server. The URLs checked are determined entirely by the content of the page you are auditing.

5. Website (yanseo.com)

The YAN SEO website may use standard web server logs that temporarily record:

IP address (anonymized)
Browser type and version
Pages visited and time of visit

This information is used solely for server administration and security purposes. No advertising trackers, behavioral analytics, or third-party cookies are used on this website.

6. No Account Required

YAN SEO does not require registration, login, or the creation of a user account. No email address, name, or any personally identifiable information is ever requested or collected.

7. Third-Party Services

YAN SEO does not integrate with any third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics), advertising networks, or data brokers. The Extension does not include any third-party tracking SDKs.

The Extension is distributed via the Chrome Web Store, which is subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms of service.

8. Children's Privacy

YAN SEO is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
